Presentation title
Challenges and Perspectives in Research on Chinese Dietetics
Scheduled
DAY 1, 16:15 – 17:45
Presentation summary
Chinese dietetics represents a fundamental pillar of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), yet it remains significantly under-researched in Western clinical studies.
In addition, nutritional research faces specific methodological challenges, including difficulties in selecting appropriate study populations, limited possibilities for randomization and blinding, and issues related to adherence and defining suitable control groups.
Furthermore, high dropout rates, short study durations, and poorly validated outcome measures often compromise the interpretability and generalizability of results.
These limitations hinder the generation of robust evidence and its translation into clinical practice.
This presentation highlights these challenges based oncurrent literature and discusses methodological approaches to enhance research quality in the field of Chinese dietetics.
