Presentation title
Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) from a TCM Perspective

Scheduled
Day 2, 15:30

Presentation summary

Nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a group of conditions commonly encountered in nephrology. In Western medicine (WM), NS can be either primary (or idiopathic) or secondary to a systemic or infectious pathology. Nephropathycan have numerous acute and/or chronic complications.

It is sometimes difficult to treat, and can progress to severe chronic kidney disease (CKD), with serious consequences for patients, their families and society.

Early detection and treatment of the disease and its complications are the most important measures in its management. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can play an important role in understanding the etiology ofthe disease, particularly in so-called “idiopathic” forms, and can be complementary in treating the disease and preventing complications and relapses.

It also has its place as supportive care for OM treatments (corticosteroid therapy, other immunosuppressants, etc.).
