Chinese Massage Therapy (Tuina Sou Fa) – A Valuable Therapeutic Resource

Presentation summary

Tuina means : method of grasping and pushing with hands and Sou-Fa : method of joint manipulation.

It is avaluable resource of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and consists of a set of maneuvers and their sequences, inaddition to joint and vertebral manipulations.

It can use acupuncture points with pressure stimulation, as wellas manipulative techniques on soft tissues, with therapeutic purposes auxiliary in the treatment of Pain and ofseveral pathologies.

It can be used in association with acupuncture and other complementary techniques, suchas Cupping therapy, increasing its Effectiveness and Efficacy, replacing it for patients with needle phobia, or insome cases it is configured as first-line therapy.

The purpose of this Workshop is to provide a theoretical-practical introduction to the study and art of Chinese Massage Therapy and its scientific support, including Systematic reviews in the Treatment of Pain, Labor Pain, Premenstrual Syndrome, Treatment of Primary Dysmenorrhea, Headache, and Insomnia, to name a few, offering hands-on training for immediate clinical application.
