Practical Session of Japanese Acupuncture : Japanese Style Acupuncture for Subjective Tinnitus including Application of Tinnitus Reactive Point (TRP)

Presentation summary

Introduction :
This practical session will introduce “Japanese Style Acupuncture for Subjective Tinnitus including Application of Tinnitus Reactive Point (TRP) and shallow acupuncture needling”.

Method :
TRPs are treatment points where pressure stimulation applied with the fingertip reduces or eliminates subjective tinnitus, or changes the sound quality. By applying shallow acupuncture needling, mainly using finefiliform acupuncture needles to TRPs.

Results :
The following effects can be expected from acupuncture treatment that applies to TRPs with fine filiform needle : 1. The volume of tinnitus decreases, and 2. Tinnitus is no longer a concern.
Conclusion :
It is suggested that the application of pressure stimulation with the fingertip could easily detect acupuncture stimulation point that are effective for subjective tinnitus.
