Introduction :
Osteoporosis is a debilitating disease whose allopathic treatment is extremely expensive and sometimesresults in adverse side effects that can exceed the severity of the disease being treated. Our study aimed torigorously classify osteoporosis cases according to TCM diagnostic criteria.

Materials and Methods :
Osteoporosis is one of the possible manifestations of energy imbalances. Specifically, we identified 10 different TCM syndromes that can associate osteoporosis with other pathologies. These are 10 main syndromes, some of which can co-occur and develop into complex syndromes

What are the advantages of this analysis ?
– If there are 10 diagnosed syndromes, then there are 10 different therapeutic principles requiring 10 different treatments!
– If a TCM syndrome can manifest itself, depending on the affected body part, in the form of several differentallopathic pathologies, then a thorough history identifying a sequence of a patient’s diseases can help preventosteoporosis by treating the TCM syndrome generating these pathologies.
– Knowing the TCM diagnosis can help determine whether to include allopathic medications, avoiding theadministration of medications whose side effects constitute one TCM syndrome or another.
– The treatment proposed through the prism of TCM theory combines acupuncture, TCM herbal medicine,injections of certain homeopathic solutions into acupuncture points (the points and solutions selected differ foreach syndrome), and TCM dietary therapy.
We have chosen to illustrate the approach and the results obtained through a clinical case presentation.
