Presentation summary

As Cole Portet said in his famous song “ I’ve got you under my skin”, the skin, the limit of our individuality. Support of any relationship, it is linked with our being, in the heart center.

Border, protection, defence, exchanges, elimination, the skin is also the mirror of being, reflection of the shen and the zangfu, place of circulation of the 72 mai ; for acupuncturists like us, it summarizes the entirety of our practice, diagnosis and therapy.

In all traditions, the circle is a symbol of the totality of manifestation for both the macrocosm and the human microcosm. Deepening its symbolism will allow us to relate by analogy the primordial stem cell, the fertilized egg from which we come and whose circular membrane projects into dabao, the large skin envelope.

After several billion cell divisions, the uniqueness of the individual is a reflection of the original unity; the skin on the periphery is at the deepest level of the relationship to being.

-The Chinese medicine
« One gives two, two gives three, three gives birth to ten thousand beings» daodejing.
The way out in life and the getting in shape, xiang, are governed by the Po.
Suwen chap 23 and 62 : the lung hoards the Po, it is the master of the qi produced by the seizure of jing essences. Po regulates inputs and outputs ; the lung ensures coherent existence, its governs the skin, therefore the inner-outer relationships. The liver guards the hun that guarantees the relationship to shen present in the heart. Maintaining shen requires a good anchoring in the zhi of the kidney and maintaining jing.

-Skin pathologies
In dermatology, any chronic skin pathology must be considered as a means of expressing the individual, his suffering, his behaviour and experiences. It expresses the state of the zangfu, the yin-yang, water-fire, qi-xue, jing- shen kidney-heart, po-hun, lung-liver imbalances.
In therapy, the six levels could be used, bearing in mind that the defence, weiqi and emunctory functions resonate on taiyang, the nutrition function on taiyin, the elimination-absorption exchanges on yangming.

-Psoriasis
We chose this pathology because of its frequency and because of the involvement of emotions and feelings in relation to the events experienced by the patients.
4 clinical cases will be discussed, followed by therapeutic proposals and psychological support with the same objectives.

Any chronic pathology requires a psycho-spiritual journey to understand its meaning and to rediscover a balance between doing and being, inside and outside, especially for the skin that is the articulation, and between hun and po by a rooted solid kidney axis.
